The best source of change comes from communities who engage with their neighbors and identify the most important challenges, potential solutions and are involved in their implementation. Mount Baker Foundation wants to listen and explore new types of philanthropy that supports and inspires increasing levels of community engagement.
Our Approach
Unlike most foundations, Mount Baker Foundation does not have an annual grant cycle, nor do we accept incoming requests or applications for our strategic grants. The work of the Board is done through its committees, which investigate and research key issues in their areas of focus, engage stakeholders, and listen carefully to all those involved. We actively seek experts in these areas, whether locally, across the state or nation. And we want to learn from what other communities are doing – even on a global basis. The key to our grant-making is understanding how we might be a catalyst to systemic change and inspire collaboration among entities to achieve goals for the community.
We do, however, accept incoming grant applications for smaller grants less than $10,000 through our Go Grants program. Learn more below.
